History : Kendall County Republican Women
History

On October 7, 1936, a meeting of Kendall County Republican women was held at the library in Plano, Illinois for the purpose of organizing a Republican Women's league.  The organization was established and named "Kendall County Republican Women."  More than seventy years later, KCRW is still going strong and is the largest Republican women's organization in the state of Illinois.

KCRW members have been involved as Kendall County grew from the sleepy rural county of years past through the recent housing boom that brought thousands of new residents from all over the country.  Kendall County, at one point, was listed as the fastest growing county in the nation!

Kendall County has changed dramatically since 1936, and KCRW has grown and changed with it.  We are proud that several of our members now hold leadership roles and elected offices throughout the state.

We honor our past, and we are excited about our future.

Communication between members has changed over the years, as e-mails, text messages and cell phones keep us all connected no matter where we are.  But some things remain the same.  We hold to tradition by hosting our yearly President's Day card party and luncheon, and our yearly bake sale.  We host our popular candidate's night during election years so that Kendall County voters can meet and talk with local and state candidates.   We continue to contribute to Kendall County and our communities with volunteer and financial support.  And, we will always work together so that women will be an important component of the Republican Party.
